Jonathan Kinsman (He/Him) is a trans man living on the outskirts of Manchester, England. He was born in 1993 and is bisexual and polyamorous. He has also been known to write the occasional short play.
His debut pamphlet, &, was joint-winner of the Indigo Dreams Pamphlet Prize in 2017. His second pamphlet, witness, comes out with Burning Eye in April 2020. He is a two time Best of the Net nominee and has poems published in many literary magazines and journals, including Glass Poetry, Kissing Dynamite and Prole.
He is a multiple slam finalist, including in Manchester's Word War and placing third in the BBC Edinburgh Fringe Slam 2019. He has headlined at spoken word events all over the country and made appearances on podcasts and the radio. He is a familiar face at poetry events around Manchester.
As well as writing, Jonathan is also a prolific editor. He is founding editor of Riggwelter Press, a monthly online literary magazine featuring poetry, short fiction, visual art and experimental media. Riggwelter has twice been shortlisted for a Saboteur Award for Best Magazine. He is also associate editor of Three Drops From A Cauldron and has previously been a student editor of Sheffield University's Route 57, as well as having guest edited Celebrating Change.
